Bringing ideas to life through code, design, and the lens
I’m Romeo. I worked for almost five years in advertising, starting as an email developer using
platforms like ExactTarget and Eloqua. Later, I explored animation, which was fun and creative, but
I returned to email development to continue growing my skills, this time on Adobe Campaign Classic.
In 2024, I stepped out of corporate life to study in Canada at Algonquin College. I completed one
year of Interactive Media Management and another year in Cloud Development and Operations.
This website is a place where I share some of my school assignments, hobbies, and personal
experiments.

This was a segmented assignment. I began by creating thumbnails using pen and paper. Once I finalized them, I proceeded to the wireframing process. In the third part, I designed the logo and selected the appropriate colors. After completing all of these steps, I was able to create a prototype using Figma.

I developed a custom WordPress theme for my online portfolio, which included the work I submitted to the Admission office as a requirement for the IMM program. Using WordPress minimized the amount of coding I had to do, as many elements and sections were already created. My main responsibility was the design and the styling using CSS.

Creating an Electronic Direct Mail template was my first job in 2018. In this template, I applied the EDM’s best practices to avoid an issue across all the email platforms. I also put a media query where the code automatically shrinks the email width to 360px when it detects a mobile width.

I aim to produce a design that looks like an e-commerce website in the form of an email. I include neutral colors, three-column modals, and a field where to put a statement.

Besides the taste of their ramen, I was amazed at how their social media team advertised their products. Their works inspired me, so I decided to create my version. Upon scrolling the Facebook page, I noticed a common name in their menu. That’s why I came up with the “Check out the newest kings” with that headline. It generates an idea to have an animating scroll.

This animated banner was created in September 2019. It was a time that I was learning new stuff related to ads with animation. There are two ways I know to create an animated banner. First, the GWD(Google Web Designer), which I use in this slide. Second, it’s called the GSAP(GreenSock Animation Platform). I also learned this as it’s lighter and faster compared to GWD.
